This free number is used in all member states of the European Union to contact the emergency services: police, fire brigade or medical assistance. The number operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Central district (Kartuizerinnenstraat 4)
Monday to Friday: 8.00 a.m.-5.00 p.m.; Saturday: 9.00 a.m.-6.00 p.m.; closed on Sundays and on public holidays.  

Police Station (Lodewijk Coiseaukaai 3)
Monday to Thursday: 7.00 a.m.- 9.00 p.m. and continuously from 7.00 a.m. on Friday to 9.00 p.m. on Sunday. For urgent matters, there is a permanent 24-hour service in the police station.
