The Bridges

Old and new reached out to one another in the street art festival ‘The Bridges’. Flashback to summer 2020. Bruges artist Wietse and his buddies are bursting to overrun the city with murals. The eight of them come from Bruges, Ghent and Leuven, and are internationally renowned. They paint façades in the centre and the boroughs, often just a stone's throw away from the City Ramparts. Birds, fish and other creatures appear surprisingly often. ‘The Bridges’ is about the symbolism of building bridges. Between the past and future, inner city and suburbs, nature and culture.
