Strostraat
Mirrored façades in the water are what characterise the Sint-Annarei. If you stroll along here, you might accidentally end up in the Strostraat. But that's nothing to worry about! The Strostraat is narrow and walled, like many other alleys in Bruges, but it has something special. This is the big grey paving stones. They are larger than the other tiles and well worn down by the many feet that have walked on them. They are tombstones from the lost cemetery around St Anne's Church. They were given a second life here in the late 19th century. Circular economy before its time?
