From Bruges' Fool to Mary of Burgundy. Bruges is home to a treasure trove of stories, gossip and legends. The Bruges street artists of Legendz have given them a new look. Jeremiah Persyn put his heart and soul into a wall portrait of Mary of Burgundy several metres high (Hauwersstraat). The much-loved 15th-century queen tragically died after falling from her horse. On Kapucijnenplein (Capuchins' Square), next to Concertgebouw Brugge (Concert Hall), four Bruges' Fools by artist Stan Slabbinck draw the eye. A colourful reference to the legend that gave residents of Bruges their nickname. Stefaan De Croock, alias Strook – famous around the world – knocked up a mysterious wooden sculpture on the side wall of ’t Santpoortje, near ’t Zand Square. Which is your favourite? And if you just can't get enough of Legendz, good news – they'll be taking on more artists in the future.
