Marinebasis Zeebrugge (Naval Base)
Somewhat hidden behind the marina, you will find the Belgian Naval Base, built at the end of the 1960s. Just about the entirety of Graaf Jansdijk is taken up by two military tide docks, a complete shipyard for maintenance and training and administrative buildings. Unfortunately, you cannot enter the naval base, but from the nearby panoramic platform at the Visserskruis (Fishermen's Cross), you can catch a glimpse of the frigates, anti-mine vessels and coastal patrol boats that are docked there. As such, you can get a taste of the exciting and adventurous naval world in Zeebrugge.
