Tuin Groeningemuseum (Groeninge Museum Garden)
On the Dijver, the elegant rococo gate leading to the Groeninge Museum immediately catches the eye. Once inside, you pass through a series of ‘garden rooms’ leading to the museum entrance. There are a number of striking features to enjoy along the way: a subtle lace pattern on an internal wall, water pumps, and a contemporary work in Carrara marble by Pablo Atchugarry which creates a link with Michelangelo’s Madonna and Child, carved from the same material, in the nearby Museum of the Church of Our Lady. The church tower can be seen from the garden, and so we come full circle.
