Brewery De Halve Maan is a 100% Bruges company. In 2016, the company made global headlines with a clever piece of innovation: a three-kilometre underground beer pipeline connecting the city brewery with the bottling plant outside the city.

A new stunt was created to promote the first alcohol-free special beer of the Bruges brewery: Sportzot. With this brand, De Halve Maan takes a firm and positive stand by supporting promising athletes passionate about their sport. This is often in disciplines that remain under the radar and where Sportzot can make a difference.

Dutch surfer Roderick Pijls is one of these top sport ambassadors of Sportzot. He took up the challenge of covering the 1.1 km course from the brewery to the Rozenhoedkaai while surfing on the canals. Now that's a whacky way to discover the city!
