The Lissewege Visitors’ Centre has been given a proper makeover plus a new location. In 2022, it moved from the Presbytery to Walram Romboudtstraat, but it's still close to the imposing Church of Our Lady of the Visitation. Here you can learn about no less than 1,000 years of history of the white polder village. Unique photos, maps, models, paintings and archaeological finds from the former Cistercian abbey Ter Doest give you a special insight into the rich past of Lissewege. In addition, the visitor centre is the ideal place to take a little break and for tourists to ask any questions about the white village. Visitors can access all kinds of tourist information, including:
- Free map of Bruges, Zeebrugge and Lissewege, including the highlights
- Advice in a number of languages about tourist activities in Lissewege, Bruges, Bruges’ woodlands and wetlands and the Coast
- A good selection of walking and cycling routes along the Coast and through Bruges’ woodlands and wetlands
- Information about visits to Lissewege church tower
- Sales of books on the history of Lissewege, the Museum of Saints and the Ter Doest Abbey
- Small souvenirs
