Wednesday market

When you are looking for fresh food, local markets are the right choice. The most famous one takes place on the Markt in the city center. Every Wednesday from 8.00 till 13.30 you can find a wide range of different types of fresh vegetable, fruit, flowers and plants. Dairy products are an indispensable part of the market such as fresh meat or fish. And when you get hungry, you can always get some roasted meat, noodles or just enjoy coffee with waffles.

Beursplein market

Another place to visit is Beursplein market. This is the place where you can get anything from socks to duck – every Saturday from 8:00 till 13:00. If you are looking for ingredients for lunch, pretty plants for your garden, elegant dress or nice watch, candles, fresh fruit or vegetable – Beursplein market is the best place, so make sure you don´t miss this one!

Vismarkt

Vismarkt is also known as “Fish market”. This is the right place to get fresh fish and seafood from North Sea! Every week from Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00-13:00 – but watch out and come early, so you can pick the best pieces. Beside fish, you can also meet artists here and buy beautiful paintings and drawings or wooden stuff for kids.

Fleemarket

“Folklore market” is little bit different from others, because it is more about fashion, handmade stuff and decorations. But watch out – it has such a romantic touch! Walking along the river, -and watch lovely candles, interesting wooden pieces and jewellery, -  it is really pleasant experience. You can enjoy this market from Friday to Sunday during summer (June-September) and during weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from half of March to half of November. And the market is always here every bank holiday as well! Always from 10:00 till 18:00 on the riverside Dijver.

All these markets are nearby each other, so you can visit them all in one day. But don´t forget big bag for your shopping – I am sure you will not be able to resist.
